Influence & Co. has grown so much over the past eight years. In the early days, we were just three people sitting in a room trying to figure out how to deliver our one service offering of guest-contributed articles. Fast-forward to today, and our team of more than 75 people helps clients tap into the power of a variety of content types to reach their lead generation, SEO, and thought leadership goals.
Of course, as companies change, there comes a time when the structure that used to work no longer makes sense. We found this out in 2015 when we restructured our siloed departments into account service teams and found so much immediate success that we wondered why we hadn't done it from the start. The same thing happened recently when we made the decision to promote some amazing individuals at Influence & Co. to create a leadership structure that we know will serve us well for the next chapter of the company.
We're so excited for three big promotions at Influence & Co., so we wanted to share a little bit about these individuals and why we're confident in their abilities to step into these new roles and make a big impact at Influence & Co.
Alyssa was the first employee we hired at Influence & Co. eight years ago, so to say that she has a wealth of company and industry knowledge would be an understatement. Alyssa has been instrumental in many of the groundbreaking developments at Influence & Co. She was the first account strategist we had working with our clients, and she went on to build our account services department and influence our customer experience. She was then asked to take on the challenge of scaling our sales department when we couldn't find the exact fit we were looking for externally. Two years ago, Alyssa was charged with bridging a gap we were seeing between our sales and account services departments. After two years of seeing the big picture of how our clients interact with our brand, she is the ideal individual to become our first-ever COO. Alyssa has not only led the charge for big improvements in our customer experience, but she has coached our new vice president of account services to be more than ready to lead the biggest department in the company.
Jenn is uniquely suited to be the VP of account services because she has excelled in every role on an Influence & Co. account team. She joined our team more than five years ago as an editor, transitioned into the content strategist role, and then fostered client relationships as an account strategist. She was promoted to a director of account services position, where she has managed a group of account teams for the past two years. Jenn is a natural leader, and she has honed those skills both in her roles at Influence & Co. and throughout her 23 years of experience in journalism, media relations, and marketing. We're so excited to see where Jenn takes our account services department!
Becky is a sought-out expert among the Influence & Co. team. She's been with our company for six years, and she has worked with some of our largest clients to solve their marketing challenges. She has not only worked on an account team as an account strategist, but she has also managed a group of account teams and worked with our sales team for the past year to ensure we're creating packages and selling services in a way that truly has a measurable impact for our clients. We're looking forward to seeing Becky take that expertise and lead the marketing team in communicating what Influence & Co. does in a way that's accurate and authentic.
All of these changes are exciting steps in Influence & Co.'s growth. Because these three women are stepping up to lead our company, I as the CEO will have fewer than six people reporting directly to me for the first time in the company's existence. That means I'll have much more time to focus on the long-term vision and growth of Influence & Co. I am incredibly grateful to have such a deep bench of people who have the experience, skill sets, and trust of the team to thrive in their roles.
