The Life of a Content (& Inbound!) Marketer in GIFs

blog-1.gifBeing a content marketer can be challenging, incredibly rewarding, and unbelievably frustrating — all in the same week.

I've experienced all of these feelings (and more) firsthand and have realized that there's no better way to showcase what I and my fellow content (and inbound) marketers often feel than with a series of GIFs.

Because if there's anyone who can express what I feel when I walk in on a Monday and our blog traffic is down, it's Jon Snow.

So grab a coffee or glass of vino (it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?), and give me a "heck yes" from your seat as we relive the good, the bad, and the ugly together.

The reaction you get when you try to explain what you do to your parents, family members, and friends

That moment when you come back from a really great weekend and blog traffic is severely down

That moment when you've poured your heart and soul into writing the best article you've ever written, hit publish, and no one shares your article

But then, a month later, it becomes the most popular post on your blog

That fabulous feeling you get each week when you put together the newsletter, triple-check it, get ready to click "Send," and realize you're sending this to thousands of people — so, like, no pressure

The moment when the newsletter finally goes out and your inbox zero goes kaput as a mudslide of auto-reply emails come flooding in

When you're so excited to share with your friends the latest lead generation strategy you implemented and they have no idea what you're talking about

But then you stop to think about the impact you're having on the company

When someone comes up to you and tells you that she loved your latest post and it really resonated with her

And then a friend or family member tells you that anyone could write a good article

And what you really want to do is laugh and prepare for a firecracker rebuttal

But you're not going to try to fight that battle because it's not worth it (and it's Friday night, so you've had a few)

Then, on Monday, your team lead tells you that a client just signed after reading a piece of content you helped develop

When you show up at HubSpot's INBOUND conference and finally, for the first time, feel like you belong

Amiright?
